Music Monday: Floating in Space

Hello there ❁❁  It's Music Monday!

So this playlist is called "Floating in Space."  I always wanted to make this playlist but it was harder than I thought to find some songs that take you to outer space.  If you listen to this playlist with closed eyes and earphones, and if you could feel like you're floating in the space.... then my playlist is successful haha  Not only floating space, sometimes you might feel like that you're almost drawn into black hole or hit by some huge stars so it won't be JUST floating around.  Well, hope you like it.

8tracks "Floating in Space":

Floating in Space:

I have never been to outer space but it's always my dream to be there.  Just dreaming like, someday hopefully.  One thing that we always forget is space has everything, including us.  I'll never be able to imagine how big the universe is.  I love learning about space which sometimes a little bit complicated and doesn't even make sense because I can't imagine.

Recently, what I learned is the reason why we have to wear spacesuits there, from my dearest, and smartest friend who always teaches me incredible things.  There's no air to breathe in space.  There's no air pressure so the environment of space can burn your eyes, mouth and everything, like boils away.  Basically, you will die without spacesuits there.  From that, when we boil water, the speed will be different between on the ground and on top of the mountain.  It's faster when you boil water on top of the mountain than on the ground because top of the mountain is close to space, boils away.  I found this so cool, well science is definitely not my thing but it's cool to know the things from people who knows what they're talking about.

Also, I have many constellations and stars related books.  I always feel like opening a surprise box when I read them.  There are SO MANY things to learn about space.  It's overwhelming and magical.  Well, I wanted to be an astronaut or astronomer when I was in elementary school and then, I learned I have zero talent for maths & science when I started learning them in junior high school so I changed my mind and learning about space and stars are just my hobby.

There's a tale of Milky Way in Japan.  On 7th July, we always have this event called Tanabata, which celebrates this couple who are separated by this Milky Way over a year and they are allowed to meet once in a year on the day over Milky Way.  And we wish something that you really desire and the couple on Milky Way will fulfill our wishes for us.  So, every year, I go down to the beach near where I used to live in Japan, and look up to see Milky Way on the day but I actually had never seen Milky Way there as much as I can see it clearly in Canada.

Maybe, we will never be able to know how we feel being or floating in space like, but how crazy that music can make you feel that you are in a different place when you just listen to them carefully.  Many musicians and artists who I love always take me to the places I had never been, or take me back to the places I used to be.  That is unreal experience when you learn how actually it feels.  For example, some of City and Colour and Ben Howard's songs take me back to Quebec City where I visited 3 years ago, still vividly.  Aurora's songs take me from a middle of ocean to foggy woods where I have never been which is also very surreal moment because when those feelings come to me, the things actually affecting me are only music, smell and my imagination.

While I was making this playlist, I wore earphones and closed my eyes every song to see how they take me to outer space.  Some songs make me very calm and let me feel like just floating around, and some songs make me feel like I'm on kind of exciting risky adventure there.  Hope you can enjoy, especially when you want to go somewhere but without going out of your room, or even bed.

Well, thank you for reading all my rumbles.  Have a great Monday & week!
xx hik
